What We Believe
Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired, infallible authoritative words of God revealed to man by the Holy Ghost. ( 2 Timothy 3 :15-17,2 Peter 1:19-27 ).
We believe that there is only one true and living God who created all things and keeps them by his power. And reveals himself as Father, Son and Holy Ghost. (Genesis 1:1, Isaiah 43:10, John 1:1,14, 14:18, I Timothy 3:16).
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of God, born of a virgin and brought redemption to man by shedding his blood when he was crucified on the cross and buried and rose from the dead after three days and three nights (John 3:6, Matthew 1:12-23; I Peter 1:18-19; Matthew 12:38-40; John 19:14-19,30,31,40-42, Matthew 28:17).
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the comforter sent from God to dwell in everyone who confesses Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and enables them to live a holy life. (John 14:26; Galatians 5:22, 23; Romans 8:11,13).
We believe the baptism of the Holy Ghost is given to every believer who asks with the evidence of speaking in tongues and the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 3:11; Acts 2:1-4, 38,39; 5:12-16, I Corinthians 12:1-11).
We believe that for lost and sinful humanity to be saved regeneration by the Holy Spirit is necessary. (John 3:5; Acts 2:38; Romans 12: 1,2; Titus 3:3-5, Ephesians 2:8,9).
We believe that man is subject to physical death of the body because of original sin, and that after death there is no consciousness, the body returns to the ground, the spirit returns to God and the thoughts perish, the dead remains in this state the Bible calls sleep until the resurrection. (Psalms 146:3,4; Ecclesiastes 9:5,6; John 11:11-14; I Thessalonians 4:13-18).
We believe in the resurrection of the dead when Jesus Christ returns both saved and lost, the saved to life everlasting, the lost to everlasting damnation. (Daniel 12:2; John 3:16-18; Acts 24:1; Revelation 20:11-15).
We believe the imminent, bodily, visibly and sudden return of Jesus Christ (Matthew 24:30-39; Acts1:9-11; I Thessalonians 4:15-18).
We believe that the Sabbath (Seventh Day) is still in force and should be observed. It was set apart at the beginning as a memorial of creation. Jesus and His disciples observed it and even after the he ascended into heaven His disciples still observed it. The Sabbath is observed from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. (Genesis 1:1-3; Exodus 16:22-30; Exodus 20:8-11; Nehemiah 9:13-14; Isaiah 56:13,14; Mark 2:27, 28; Luke 4:16; Acts 13:14, 42, 44; 16:12, 13; 18:4; Hebrews 4:1-10).
We believe in baptism by immersion in water, Jesus himself was baptized leaving us an example to follow, it is the outward showing of an inward work, (dead to sin, burying the old man and the raising up of the new man in Christ). Baptism itself does not save anyone, but is done in obedience to the Gospel of Jesus after conversion. Baptism is not designed for infants but for those who know God’s plan of salvation and have decided to trust and obey the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 3:13-17; 28:18-20; Acts 2:37, 38; 8:30-36; 9:18; Romans 6:1-4).
We believe that marriage was instituted by God between a man and a woman and is instituted to last as long as both partners live. Jesus teaches that only fornication (sexual unfaithfulness) is sufficient cause for divorce. Those who remarry after divorce except for fornication commit Adultery and those who marry someone who has been divorced except fornication commit Adultery. (Genesis 2:18-25; Matthew 5:31, 32; 19:3-9; Mark 10: 1-12; Luke 16:18; Romans 7:1-3; Hebrews 13:4).
